Garbage, Recycling and Yard Waste

Payment Information

The City contracts with Waste Management, Inc. for waste removal services within the King County portion of Pacific. The Council approved rate increases to pass through added contract costs and the hazardous waste program costs. Pierce County residents are served by Waste Connections which handles its own customer service; please call them directly at 253-922-6682.

Garbage, recycling and yard waste charges are billed monthly. Rates are for one garbage collection per week. Recycling and yard waste services are optional and those containers are picked up the same day as garbage but only twice a month. Additional garbage and yard waste will be picked up for additional charges. The following charges represent the most common services. If you wish different container sizes or services, contact utility billing for rates.

The City Council held noticed Public Hearings on utility rate increases on November 3, 2008 and subsequently approved increases in all of the City of Pacific utility rates effective January 1, 2009.
